About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer with NV1 clearance to join our consulting partner's team supporting a major Federal Government client. You'll work on the design and development of secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud-native applications using modern technologies and best practices.

This role offers the flexibility to be based in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, or Melbourne, and is ideal for developers who are passionate about building clean, testable, and maintainable code in a highly regulated and security-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.

  • Build microservices leveraging frameworks such as Express, Koa, or Hapi.

  • Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions using AWS Lambda and other AWS IaaS components.

  • Implement and integrate API solutions, such as Google Apigee.

  • Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) and ensure code quality using unit testing frameworks such as Mocha and Chai.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable government solutions.

  • Contribute to DevSecOps pipelines and tooling (e.g., DTool).

  • Adhere to government security and compliance standards throughout the SDLC.

Key Skills and Experience

  • NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)

  • Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, API development, and AWS IaaS

  • Proficiency in writing unit tests using Mocha, Chai, or similar

  • Experience with microservice architectures and frameworks like Express, Koa, or Hapi

  • Strong understanding of TDD, clean code principles, and modern software engineering practices

  • Familiarity with Google Apigee and DTool is highly desirable

  • Ability to work autonomously and in a collaborative, agile consulting environment
