Our large federal government client is seeking a Risk and Benefits Manager who will ensure seamless support to a Project Controls Team within a Project Management Office. This team is responsible for providing accurate and timely information to ensure informed decisions are made and that necessary actions taken to correct any non-planned situations or trends.
This is a major ICT capability development project that is in the acquisition phase of delivery. DEF2289 is scoped to deliver the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Information Environment (ISR IE) to enable the integration of multiple dependant Australian Defence Force (ADF) ISR related projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities - Risk & Issues Management
- Design and develop an risk and issues management approaches;
- Conduct and facilitate, risk and issues management workshops with stakeholders;
- Maintain a risks and issues register to provide a record of risks and issues relating to the project;
- Undertake assessments of risk probability, impact and timing so that risks can be prioritised;
- Adopt and implement organisational risk management tools;
- Develop a framework for assurance support;
- Coordinate risk and issues reviews and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls;
- Raise awareness of risk and treatment strategies; and
- Undertake other risk and issues management tasks as required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities - Benefits (Value) Management
- Develop and maintain key Benefits Management artefacts;
- Provide benefits realisation support services to stakeholders to support relationships to enable project integration and delivery activities;
- Provide best practice advice to key stakeholders on the effectiveness of their benefits management and realisation practices;
- Support strategic business change by developing working practices which link benefits management with continuous improvement planning, performance measurement and 'value for money' delivery;
- Provide assurance that benefits are measurable, realistic and achievable and that the risks to the benefits are being effectively managed;
- Develop comprehensive benefits reporting, including monitoring benefit trends and providing advice on benefits realisation achievements;
- Ensure benefit owners are in place and that benefits are profiled, communicated, understood and managed; and
- Undertake other benefits management tasks as required.
Technical skills
- Certification in ISO 31000 or other industry recognised qualifications
Location: This role is based in Canberra, ACT and on site.
Contract Terms: The initial contract is for 12 months, with the potential 2 X 12 month extensions.
Security Requirements: Be an Australian Citizen and holding a current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance or higher.
