About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to support integral business operations that span across multiple markets domestically and internationally. As the business continues to evolve and mature, you will play a pivotal role in establishing effective systems and process improvements to propel scale-up capability.

You will be responsible for contributing to, overseeing and managing financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities inclusive of supporting various contracted programs using commercial and financial models.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a highly regarded and trusted contributor to the Australian maritime defence capability as they embark on new and exciting projects.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage financial models, budgets, forecasts, and plans to support strategic decisions and monitor performance.
  • Budget & Cash Flow Management: Oversee budget development, compliance, and cost optimization, while managing cash flow and preparing reports for leadership.
  • Financial Operations & Reporting: Manage financial operations (AP, AR, payroll) and ensure accurate, timely reporting; maintain relationships with banks and implement internal controls.
  • Business Performance Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to assess performance, support initiatives, and align goals with business objectives.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulations, mitigate financial risks, and coordinate with auditors and authorities as needed.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting continuous improvement and supporting organisational goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in similar role e.g. Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Accountant or Commercial Manager.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, MYOB, XERO)
  • AGSVA Security Clearance - Baseline minimum
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment - desirable
