As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in executing business development strategy in the defence training and education industry. Your focus will be on identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and driving revenue growth. You will also lead a high-performing BD team and work closely with the CEO and senior management to position the client for long-term success.

The role:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a BD strategy aligned with growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, enhancing brand reputation.
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities
  • Ensuring revenue and sales targets are met.
  • Lead the production of compelling business proposals
  • Develop, train, and manage the BD team to ensure high performance.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitors, and potential market expansion opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in BD processes, including CRM management and contract evaluation.

About You:

  • Strategic thinker with strong project management skills.
  • Experienced with the ADF Training continuum
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Expertise in BD would be advantageous
  • A traceable history in course management and training delivery.
  • Must be an AGSVA Security Clearance
  • Experience in Defence/Government learning & development markets.
  • Must be an Australian citizen and have the ability to attain AGSVA clearance

Ideally, candidates will have experience in training in defence schools or training establishments, and have working experience in developing and writing TMPs. Candidates with knowledge of tools like (e.g., Shipley) and CRM platforms (e.g., Dynamics365, Salesforce) would be adventageous.

This role would suit a former member of the ADF who has held a senior instructional position (Warrant Officer, Chief Petty Officers or E08 level and above).
