About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Software Developers for Federal Government project starting in February / March 2025.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining complex software solutions while ensuring compliance with established standards and best practices. contributing to high-quality deliverables across the software development lifecycle for a federal government department.
Baseline Security clearance is required to apply for this role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, verify, test, document, and refactor complex programs and scripts.
- Apply agreed standards and tools (to deliver well-engineered results.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide professional advice.
- Lead and participate in peer reviews of code and deliverables.
- Conduct investigations, undertake technical research, and provide analysis or recommendations based on policies and legislation.
- Identify and resolve issues with code, and carry out maintenance tasks using agreed procedures.
- Plan, drive, and monitor software construction activities, ensuring alignment with project standards and security requirements.
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
- Contribute to the development of policies, standards, and guidelines for software development.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Modern Development Frameworks:
o Backend: .NET Framework, C#, SQL.
o Frontend: ASP.NET, Angular (or React), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. - Scripting and Automation: PowerShell, Python.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality solutions within defined timelines.
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience in working with cross-functional teams and clients
Desirable:
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Agile methodologies.
- Mainframe Development: Proficiency in COBOL coding with experience in maintaining and developing mainframe systems.
