ABOUT THIS ROLE
Product Managers are responsible for aligning product strategy, vision and roadmaps with customer needs and business objectives, fostering innovation and ensuring delivery outcomes. They manage and prioritise work, collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage the continuous delivery pipeline to release value in response to user needs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for providing leadership and direction to ensure a high-level of integration and consistency in the management of projects and products within the Australian Signals Directorate Capability Programs.
- Accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
- Accountable for planning and managing allocated resources, setting program priorities, workflows, work area strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
- Accountable for the development, implementation and monitoring of program strategies, plans and risks, enabling delivery and reporting on the requirements and expectations of the management of the Australian Signals Directorate assets.
- Provide strategic direction and clearly articulate goals to achieve program, project and product objectives in accordance with the Australian Signals Directorate policies and procedures.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships between the Australian Signals Directorate groups, and industry to support the Australian Signals Directorate Capability Programs.
- Engage, negotiate and sustain working relationships on very complex issues to understand and influence the stakeholder requirements.
- Analyse and implement program management options that achieve optimal use of the Australian Signals Directorate assets.
- Drive change management strategies and provide clear direction to manage performance and meet program delivery schedules.
Technical skills
- Formal qualifications in Project Management, Business Management or related field; or minimum of 5 years' experience in ICT Program Management environment. · Project Methodology certification. E.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, SAFe · Proficiency in Atlassian suite of products, including JIRA, R4J, Xray and Confluence.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
- PRMG 6: Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects. Adopts and adapts project management methods and tools. Ensures that effective project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk management and quality processes are employed and maintained. Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital expenditures against the project budget. Manages the expectations of key project stakeholders.
- CIPM 6: Defines and communicates the approach for change management for a significant part of the organisation. Initiates, plans and leads strategic, large and complex change management initiatives. Provides guidance and raises awareness to help change leaders demonstrate effective behaviours to deliver organisational change. Establishes feedback processes and leads analyses of change management successes. Enables continual improvements to change management methodology, tools and training necessary to enhance the maturity across the organisation.
- PROD 6: Oversees the organisation's product and services portfolio and the delivery of customer value and/or user satisfaction over time. Creates the product life cycle management framework for internal and external customers and users. Champions the importance and value of product management principles and appropriate product development models. Aligns the product management objectives with business objectives and authorises the selection and planning of all product management activities. Initiates the creation of new products and services. Identifies how developing new products or adapting existing products can new opportunities.
- BURM 5: Plans and implements complex and substantial risk management activities within a specific function, technical area, project or programme. Implements consistent and reliable risk management processes and reporting to key stakeholders. Engages specialists and domain experts as necessary. Advises on the organisation's approach to risk management.
