KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct planned and corrective maintenance on maritime communication and combat systems, ensuring all work adheres to the Maintenance Management System.
- Assist engineering teams with configuration management, defect investigations, and the implementation of engineering change tasks on RAN vessels and shore facilities.
- Perform technical investigations, inspections of material for engineering change tasks, and maintenance support for breakdown spares and repairable items.
- Produce maintenance reports, document activities, and provide data for system health indicators to support program management.
- Provide supervision and mentoring for technicians and apprentices, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers at all levels, ensuring timely resolution of deficiency reports and requests.
- Undertake travel within Australia and internationally to support program and operational requirements.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Certification in Electronics or Communications.
- Extensive experience in maintenance, defect rectification, and servicing of communications or combat systems in a Defence maritime environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to specifications and standards.
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor technical teams, driving performance and adherence to high standards.
- Must hold Australian citizenship, a current NV1 clearance, and be ITAR compliant.
