We currently have positions available for Defence Project and Program Managers to be based in the Sydney. The successful applicants will join a dynamic team in a highly technical and safety critical environment. These are critical role in planning, executing, and closing projects that are vital to Defence, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project/program plans, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate and integrate multiple projects or initiatives under the program/platform, ensuring alignment with program goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, military personnel, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them, ensuring the project's success and compliance with Defence standards.
  • Manage contracts with vendors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and overseeing deliverables.
  • Ensure that the project meets quality standards and complies with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and documentation for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, providing guidance, direction, and support to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure that all project activities comply with Defence regulations, security protocols, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies to enhance project delivery and outcomes.

  • Extensive experience within the project/ program management space
  • Understanding of governance in a technical defence project environment
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and have a AGSVA Security Clearance.

Ideally, applicants will have experience in Defence naval programs and projects with a good understanding of Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) procedures and culture.
