We are currently working with a major client to identify a Systems Safety Engineer to be located in Canberra. This organisation is an engineering-based, Blue Chip Leader within the Aerospace and defence Sector. They actively promote internal career progression through training and ongoing professional development.
This is a key role within a specialist team that is responsible for the provision of Systems Safety Engineering support across the organisation. The successful applicant will be involved with a range of activities that will include the development and maintenance of Safety Plans and Safety Cases, the preparation and review of Systems Engineering documentation, as well as the development and implementation of Safety Critical processes. An important part of this role is enhancing the overall Systems Safety Engineering capability of the business.
To qualify for this position you must have:
- An Engineering Degree in a relevant field
- Applied experience in Systems Safety Engineering
- Extensive industry experience in an engineering field
- Systems Engineering knowledge and experience in a Safety Critical engineering environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and effective application of Risk Management in a Safety related Industry
- An Australian Citizen and Eligible for Defence Security Clearance
Ideally, you will possess demonstrable knowledge of Safety Management Systems and experience with Systems Safety in accordance with MIL-STD-882C, SAE ARP 4754, RCTA DO-178B, or equivalent standards such as IEC 61508 or similar.
Due to the diverse nature of this specialist team, applicants with a strong Systems Engineering background but limited experience in Systems Safety are encouraged to apply.
