How would you summarize what you do at Kinexus in one paragraph?
My job is to know what’s going on in the market around supply and demand for defence industry workers, and finding ways of using this information to help our friends.

What do you like best about working at Kinexus?
The intensity!

What’s your favourite part of your job?
I love talking about the tech, and how we can find ways of working together more efficiently.

What has been your least favourite job and why?
Myself and two mates having to destroy 100 cases of rancid beer cans from HMAS PERTH’s beer store. Puncturing each with a knife in 30+ degree heat and getting covered in the stuff. The glamorous life of a Midshipman….

What do you see as the next big game changer within the industry?
Autonomous systems and cyber will define modern warfare, and the skills we need in Australia to ensure we maintain a capability edge.

You’re ex forces, what was your trade and what were you responsible for?
Seaman Officer- driving patrol boats and destroyers around the oggin.

What’s your greatest achievement and how has it shaped you?
Personal- Kids. Made me appreciate spare time and sleep….. Also opened a whole new world of fun and satisfaction.

Work- growing the biggest, most capable defence industry recruiting machine. Allows me to have conversations in industry that no one else can have.

What motivates you to succeed?
Righting wrongs, winning.

What’s your favourite movie?
The Hunt for Red October (only Sean Connery could get away with playing a Russian sub skipper with a Scottish accent).
