To celebrate Australian Safety Week, we caught up with Len Neist, an ex-RAAF engineer, now chief engineer at Public Transport Victoria to chat not only about how he got to where he is today, but also discuss how he's seen different industries approach safety and what he thinks the emerging trends are in the safety space.
Len has an impressive resume. He's worked as a mechanical engineer, aerospace systems engineer, regulator, policy officer, safety assurance specialist, lead incident investigator, project director, project manager, capability definition and procurement specialist, chief executive, board risk specialist, executive coach and trusted advisor to government. He has worked directly for senior leaders such as the chief of air force, deputy premier NSW, minister for transport NSW, executive director surface transport Abu Dhabi.
